This video initiates with a doll and limbs creator who designs them according to his customers’ desires to satisfy them. But this is not the main content of the video, as further presented, how these dolls were used in a college campus as a way to help raise awareness or educate college students about rape that occurs there. Regarding my own point of view, the experiment held to the 3 college guys was a new one, with a purpose of allowing them to be held accountable for the responsibility of the safety for these female dolls during a normal day at campus. Through out this course sex dolls or robots have been discussed to satisfy the sexual desires of their purchasers or manufacturers, and as I could recall it was not possible by any means to believe that they could have any other purposes in real life to accomplish. On the other hand, on top of the fact which by looking at sex robots they definitely emphasize how far technology has been going, the posted video sheds a light on how the lady used such dolls to howsoever educate college students about sex, in contrast to the creator’s purpose of creating them, which personally impressed me. Ending the video was a situation the lady has put a guy in to allow guys to feel what it is actually like to be accused and not capable to defend himself, similar to rape victims when they begin a rape accusation against a guy who might have consciously did so. This is a totally new way for holding experiments that manipulate people not only on a mental level but emotionally as well, lighting a path of modern education techniques exactly like how my Cyborgs class which challenges my class mates and my own minds to enhance the way we regard and think about certain aspects from various perspectives.

Generally people always refer to modern-technology when they look at their new smart phones or the mind blowing applications and software updates which companies like Apple and Samsung invent to these devices. People also think of technology that made their life easier by looking at their washing machines and other home / work appliances. On the other side, there is a remarkable percentage of people living their daily lives differently and they’re lacking the technology that would make it somehow easier than they currently are.

In this video, Ryan; a handsome young man, who is on autism spectrum was fortunate enough to have his grandfather building him a hug machine; yes you’ve read that right. Apparently in the end of the video it turned out to be not just a machine, but a wonderful creation which enhanced Ryan’s life that he even got a job that he’s good at just like anyone else is good at something in their lives. Regarding his mental health it was clear that his mother stated was getting much better since the invention of the hug machine, it is something that makes him feel in control, stress-relieving, creates a sense of calm and simply makes him happy.

His grandfather knew how to utilize the models he found on the internet to come up with the hug machine. Understanding the model’s design plan, modifying it according to the person’s needs and then building it should be an example for the definition of technology. When it comes to the broad base word of technology, I personally think that it’s all about comprehending how to utilize rather than being productive in general to accomplish the objective of making people’s lives easier. The idea for the machine at first came when the only thing that could calm Ryan and release his stress was getting a hug from his mother, however with years passing by and Ryan’s physique changing to become bigger and stiffer than his mother it wasn’t possible to receive the same hug as he used in the past.

Therefore I think we should not only to refer to technology when looking at smart devices and appliances, there are still other hand-made panels and inventions that were designed for some people and basically eases their living situations on a daily basis such as this hug machine. “It’s his life now, it has meaning and purpose and it’s not just trying to grow out of autism or trying to do better at every moment.”

For the past decade or even prior to that, new modern technology devices and humans have been inextricably entangled. They always serve humans ‘ needs and desires to perform their daily tasks in a simple manner to avoid the hurdle of over complications and even the stress of getting everything done in a matter of time. However access to some joy and entertainment in life never hurt anybody. Well, according to this video posted by VICE Australia, the desires of men wanting to have sex whenever they want and getting the most out of it is apparently available. There are two men in the video one of them is the manufacturer of these sex dolls, which he tried creating them with minds as well as emotions, introducing  them to the other man. “I’ve made a brain that I know can have emotions in many ways.”Honestly the capability of owning a doll or a robot mainly designed to perform a distinctive task who can feel, tell jokes, laugh; indicating a presence of sense of humor, and reply to people talking, kind of amazes me. The manufacturer claims that having sex with a doll is even much better than with a woman human being, emphasizing that the sex act remains the same in both cases. 
I’m not really sure about the pros of the availability of such sex dolls, but from my own point of view I think it does really serve some men’s or non-straight women’s needs in a way or another. It is even considered affordable as per the manufacturer stated in the video, the doll is only 4000 dollars and I think it could be regarded as a long-term investment, people can trade it with each other and exchange them together, without any complications. Also such robots highlight how far the world has gone with it’s infinite innovations. Last, there will never be a society as a whole that fully agrees or disagrees to the presence of something, therefore the same apply to these dolls or special effects robots. I am really excited to read about or watch how far can innovators go on with new ideas applied to their work.
